Dang it . . . I was tagged!!!

Well, Julie tagged me, so I'd better just get this over with before I get double-tagged or something :-)

This is how it works: Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird. *Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.* Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

My 7 facts (or are they fiction???)

1. I play the trombone. Have since I was 9. Love it!!! I still play every summer in the Lancaster Town Band. It's sooo much fun.

2. I'm a stay-at-home mom-of-one and love it!!! I miss teaching, but would never be able to leave Jack all day.

3. My "occupation" is being a math teacher, but I must admit that I can't even balance my check book!! I'm not great at math, but I love to teach it . . . isn't that weird?!?! In fact, in high school, I dropped out of math for a year because I didn't like it.

4. Often I dream that I won the lottery or "Win for Life" and don't ever have to work again. Then I wake up and realize that I don't even play the lottery or "Win for Life," so that's impossible!!

5. I'm still afraid of the dark!

6. And my basement. It's more like a cellar (or a dungeon).

7. My new "thing" is gardening, but I seem to stink at it. I just finally weeded the front yard's gardens a few days ago. I filled an entire garbage can with weeds!! (And it was one of those HUGE garbage cans!!) Oh well, some of the flowers still look good. Now I need to tackle the back yard's gardens. It'll be interesting. I'll add some pictures when I do it!! You will see then what I mean :-/

Well, now it's come to the part where I need to tag others, but I don't know 7 people, so I'll just tag who I know: Sara Monnat, Jill McKerrow, and Cindy Kryman (but by the time you read this, it may be Cindy Moore . . . ha ha ha)

Busy but trying to keep up

I thought that as Jack got older, I'd get better at this. Instead the opposite is happening (but I am more organized at home, so I guess you can't have it all).

Lots has happened since my last post:

~Sara had some baby showers - one I threw with help from some of the friends. Thanks to Judy, Debbie & Danielle for all their help and for everyone who came and made it a wonderful afternoon. Sara (and Matt & baby - name below) got a lot of nice things!!

~Matt, Jack, and I went out to Mike & Julie's to visit for the weekend. It was nice to see them again. It's also good for Jack & Emma to get to know each other a little bit. Emma is such a doll!

~Jack went to the doctor and we found out that he was a healthy, normal, BIG baby. No complaints from me. We were also given the green light to start solid food. So, we did that very day. Jack wanted to do it himself for a while, but now he just lets me do it because he knows the food will get to his mouth quicker. :-o

~Matt, Jack, Dan, Don McKerrow, and I went to a Tigers game in Cleveland. It was a lot of fun and Jack's first Major League game. He had a ball. He even fell asleep during the last few innings (after I nursed him standing up in one of the bathroom stalls - yuck).

~We had some visitors from the west coast (and sadly never got any pictures of them with us or Jack). Brynna is Jill McKerrow's cousin and Lyndsey is her friend. They were a riot to have and we can't wait until they move out here (wishful thinking!!)

~Freedom convention has come and gone. It was wonderful seeing everyone again! I think that I had a good first convention-with-a-baby. Jack actually slept most of the meetings, which worked out great!! Hopefully next year goes as smoothly (yeah right!).

~After Altamont convention, Matt, Jack, and I went out to Mike & Julie's. From there we all went to Ogunquit, ME for a few days of R&R. Well, it was a little less R&R than I'd hoped for, but it was certainly a ton of fun! We hope to do it again soon :)

~Matt & Sara Monnat had their baby - Kinsley Marie - on August 23, 2008. Matt & I both got a chance to visit them in the hospital. She's sooo adorable. . . and sooo tiny. She makes Jack look like a giant (though I'm sure some people think that without seeing Kinsley first).

~Matt's grandma (Judy's Mom) came up to visit. This was the first time she got to see Jack! It was so nice to see her again. She really is such a sweet lady :)

~The week before Matt had to go back to school, we decided it would be fun to go to Genesee Country Village in Mumford, NY for the day. So we packed lunches and drove out there. It was a gorgeous day and the village was beautiful. It will be a lot more entertaining when Jack can actually play and "frolic" but it was still a nice day for all of us.

~ This past Sunday was the Bills season opener (to Matt, the best thing we did all summer, except of course convention). The Bills won, so now we are "on our way to the Super Bowl". I'm sure it won't be too long before things are back to normal and we're throwing things at the TV while watching the game!!! But, it's fun! (and a curse) (and a disease too)

I'll leave you with some pictures of the past months' activities. Hope you find them entertaining:
