Happy 4th of July!! (and a busy weekend too!)
This was the cake that I made for our 4th of July party. It was a hit . . . it was brought out at 9 and gone by the time the fireworks started (an hour later).
A bunch of other things happened that weekend too. Mike, Julie and Emma came in to town Thursday night so they could be here for the 4th. We met them early: 8 am to register our babies in the baby contest. Luckily they didn't have to compete against each other!! Here they are before "walking" across the stage. (These are the only pics I got cuz my camera died!!!! If anybody else has some . . . Julie and Dan . . . if you could send some my way, I'd appreciate it!)
Jack won 2nd place in his age group and got a medal and a stuffed animal. It was pretty exciting. Matt brought him back on stage to claim his prize and show off his cutie-pie. Unfortunately, the judges were a little wacked-out and thought that some other dumb kids were cuter than Emma. Luckily for them, we don't know where they live!!!! (just kidding . . . or am I???)
The next day was the Egger family reunion, so we didn't see much of Mike, Julie or Emma, but we went to Frosty's for ice cream on Sunday after Matt got out of work, and then they came over before they left Monday morning. Emma and Jack really are starting to notice each other and interact a bit. Below you'll notice that Emma is "smacking" Jack in the face. So in the next picture, you will see that Jack "pinched" her in return. (At least that's what it looks like.)
And of course, we couldn't leave out Matt, so we got the cousins on his lap too! What a bunch of cuties!!!!
Then, Monday night, Matt, Jack, Dan, Judy and I went to the Bison's baseball game. We went to a game 3 weeks ago, but it got rained out, so this was our "makeup" game. It was beautiful weather for it! We ate at Pettibone's Grill which is attached to the stadium and watched the first half of the game. This is where we took this picture.
Then, we went to our seats in the stadium and after Jack had a major diaper "malfunction" took this picture. (Notice the different clothes on Jack in the second picture. It was quite the "malfunction" and let's just say, I'm glad that I bought lap pads!!!)
Tuesday morning, Jack was a "naked baby" and daddy thought he needed to cuddle up in the blankets. It was tooooo cute, so I had to share this with everyone!
But, one more cool thing. Jack went swimming for the first time, and LOVED it! Here is a video of Aunt Cindy holding him while he splashes us.
Hope you enjoyed the rundown of the past weekend. Sara's shower is this coming weekend!!!! I'm very excited (and nervous - I've never been in total charge of someone's shower before!)
Until next time,
Matt, Nicki and Jack
